Door Sound Deadening

Want to bring more comfort into your car but have no idea what to start with? Or maybe you decided to sound deaden your doors?

Door sound deadening is one of the key steps in getting rid of unwanted noise inside the car. Road and bypassing transport sounds get into the car through doors. Besides, various small details, lock rods, or freely-hanging wires generate annoying sounds. Finally, engine, wheel, and suspension noise distract the driver.

Having processed your doors with the vibration-damping material Kilmat, you will:Door Sound Deadening

  • choke off door panel sounds and squeaks and reduce the street noise inside
  • improve the acoustics quality
  • make your doors close softer and quieter
  • make the car body more rust-resistant

All this ensures higher driving comfort, which means better mood of the driver and passengers.

Vibration-damping material Kilmat not only effectively addresses all the issues related to vibration of metal parts, but also helps conserve the heat insulation properties, reduces the interior noise, being completely safe for use in the car.

Before starting, make sure you are armed with everything you will need:

– Kilmat material
– gloves (to protect your hands from cutting and staining)
– degreaser
– piece of cloth
– clip remover
– marker or pencil
– ruler
– roller

Carefully dismantle the door covering. To keep the clips intact, use the clip remover. Remove the protective layer from the door holes.

Then thoroughly degrease all the metal parts of the door.

Tape all the manufacturing holes in the door and shape the template. Using the template, cut the Kilmat sheets. Remove the protective layer from the material sheet and apply the material on the internal door side. Now roll down every sheet with the roller – this is extremely important for proper operation of the material and rust prevention.

Doors of modern cars are multi-layered, so process all the metal parts of doors both from the internal and external side (under the door covering), to reach better effect. On this door side, cover all manufacturing holes with the material to prevent noise intrusion. Repeat these steps identically for other doors.

Once you finish sound deadening your doors, you will feel the silence and finer acoustics quality. After installing Kilmat, you will improve the body strength – this will enhance the vehicle response. Just compare how Kilmat-processed and untouched metal parts sound! The difference is clear!

If you want to get rid of other external sounds and exterior squeaks, improve the car acoustics quality, and make your driving more convenient and comfortable, we advise complete sound deadening of the entire vehicle. This includes processing the floor, arches, trunk, and ceiling.

Drive with comfort!
